1. Is this like spinning?
Yes and No...Spinning is usually done on bicycle-like machines to support general aerobic fitness whereas our programs are very cycling specific.  At Ohio Indoor Cycling you ride on your own bike, and the workouts and exercises are specifically designed to improve your abilities as a cyclist, not just to increase your basic fitness.

2. Will I be able to keep up?
We’ll all be in the same room together, so yes, no one gets left behind.  On the other hand, the workouts can be intense, depending on the session, and part of the fun is the competitive camaraderie that develops among the participants.  Computrainers are designed to deliver a workout specifically targeted to your ability, so even though another rider may be “stronger” than you, you’ll both be working at the same percentage of your capacity.

3. What do I need to know to be able to participate?
You’ll need to learn how to set your bike in the Computrainer, connect a cadence sensor and calibrate the Computrainer once you’ve warmed up. Our session leaders will instruct you on how to do this, but we expect you to learn how to do this on your own.  Otherwise, riding a Computrainer is remarkably like riding your bike, except that you’ll notice that whereas on the road, you get to coast a lot, on a Computrainer you’ll be working more steadily.  Which is part of why you’ll improve so much.

4. What do I need to bring with me?
Bring your water bottles, a towel, and your bike.  Don’t forget the essentials like socks, shoes, shorts, and a shirt.  You might also want a snack and recovery drink for after the workout.

5. How long is each session and how early should I arrive?
This is VERY important.  Each session is spaced out by 2 hours, and the actual ride time will be approximately 90 minutes. You should arrive at your scheduled session time (ie. 9:00am). You will spend approximately the first 15 minutes setting up your bike on the computrainer and warming up.  At approximately 15 minutes after your session time is scheduled to begin (ie. 9:15am), the actual tride will begin and last for 90 minutes.  At the conclusion of the session you will take the next 15 minutes to remove your bike, clean up your area and allow us time to get the next group ready to go.

6. I’ve never attended, how do I sign-up?
All session reservations are processed through our website.  You are welcome to "walk-in" without a reservation, but keep in mind that all spots go to those with reservations first. IMPORTANT...FOR OUR MON, WED AND FRI 5:30-7:30am SESSIONS...IF NO ONE IS SIGNED UP, WE WILL NOT BE THERE!!! THEREFORE, A "WALK-IN" IS STILL AVAILABLE, BUT PLEASE CHECK THE CALENDAR FIRST TO SEE IF OTHERS HAVE SIGNED UP...IF NOT, THE SHOP WILL NOT BE OPEN.

7. How do I register for a session?
Please visit the "BOOKING A SESSION" page on this website, and let us know which session you are planning to attend and you have paid for your reservation. If you do not show up for a planned reservation (which was not cancelled within 24-hours), you will be responsible to pay for the session.

8. How far in advance can I register?

As soon as a session is posted on the Calendar, or on the Sessions Page, you can register for any and all sessions you fully intend to join.  Please note that you can cancel a registration at any time more than 24 hours before the start of a session with no penalty.

9. How do I cancel my registration for a session?
Please send us an email to: brian@ohioindoorcycling.com more than 24-hours prior to the start of the session.

10. Do I have to cancel my registration for a session I can’t attend?

Yes!  24 hours notice cancellation is required to avoid a fee of $18 or one punch on your session card should your spot not be filled.   Please be considerate of your fellow cyclists who may wish to attend a session. A rider will not be permitted to attend a new session until their "penalty" has been cleared up.  This also applies to season pass holders!!
